Canton Tower, often nicknamed the “Little Waist” because of its unique slim shape, is the tallest television tower in China. The structure reaches a total height of 600 meters and contains 112 levels, including 111 floors above ground and one underground level.

Located along the banks of the Pearl River, Canton Tower has become one of Guangzhou’s most recognizable landmarks. From its 488-meter observation platform, situated on the 107th and 108th floors, visitors can enjoy a spectacular panoramic view stretching across the entire city.

Best Time to Experience Canton Tower

Guangzhou has a mild climate throughout the year, making spring, autumn, and winter the most comfortable seasons for sightseeing. Summer is usually less ideal because of high temperatures, frequent rainfall, and occasional typhoons, which may affect outdoor activities and visibility.

The most recommended time to visit the upper levels of Canton Tower is during the golden hour, usually between 5:00 PM and 6:30 PM. During this period, visitors can see Guangzhou in daylight, watch the sunset over the Pearl River, and enjoy the city gradually lighting up as evening arrives.

The tower’s LED lighting display usually operates from 7:00 PM to 11:00 PM, creating a stunning nighttime scene. However, Guangzhou’s humid climate often brings haze or fog, so checking the weather and visibility conditions before visiting is highly recommended.

Heavy rain or thick clouds may reduce the view from the top of the tower. It is also better to avoid crowded periods such as national holidays, Labor Day, and weekends.

How to Purchase Canton Tower Tickets

Visitors can buy tickets directly through the official Canton Tower ticket platform.

Another option is to arrange a Guangzhou sightseeing tour through a travel service, where a travel advisor can help organize a visit to Canton Tower along with other popular attractions in the city.

The Structure and Zones of Canton Tower

Canton Tower is divided into five main sections, labeled Zones A through E, according to their different functions. Most visitors spend their time exploring the lower facilities and the upper observation and entertainment areas.

Zone A: Floors 1 to 2 (0m to 32.8m)

Zone A is located at the base of the tower and mainly serves as the entrance and service area.

This section includes the reception hall, ticket counters, and the Pearl River photography platform, where visitors can capture impressive photos of the entire tower with the river scenery behind it.

The area also features a wax museum, dining facilities, and a large banquet hall capable of hosting many guests. It serves as the main transportation and visitor service center of the tower.

Zone B: Floors 17 to 22 (84m to 116m)

Zone B is home to the Jinyi 4D Cinema, one of the highest cinemas in the world.

Visitors with extra time, especially families traveling with children, can enjoy a special audiovisual experience here.

Zone C: Floors 33 to 62 (147m to 168m)

Zone C focuses on sightseeing and high-altitude entertainment. Its main attractions include Discovery the Landmark α and the Skywalk Rope Course.

Visitors can walk across transparent glass pathways and suspended walkways while enjoying the excitement of being high above the city.

Zone D: Floors 67 to 88 (334m to 355m)

Zone D is designed for visitors seeking more adventurous experiences.

The area features attractions such as Landmark α and Sky Walk, including a hollow pathway built around the inner structure of the tower. Equipped with safety gear, visitors can walk at great heights while experiencing the feeling of being surrounded by open air.

The Spider Walk provides another challenge, requiring visitors to climb vertical steps while testing both confidence and physical endurance.

Zone E: Floors 103 to 110 (376m to 450m)

Zone E is the main sightseeing section of Canton Tower, offering observation areas, premium restaurants, and famous attractions.

The Baiyun Observation Hall on the 107th floor and the Xingguang Observation Hall on the 108th floor are the primary indoor viewing platforms where visitors can enjoy wide city views.

The Tower Summit: Floor 111 (450m to 488m)

The highest section of Canton Tower extends from 450 meters to 488 meters above the ground.

This outdoor area features some of the tower’s most exciting attractions, including the Ferris wheel, Sky Drop, and the famous 488-meter observation deck.

Top Experiences at Canton Tower

Although many visitors come mainly for the breathtaking views, Canton Tower offers a wide range of activities, from romantic dining experiences to thrilling adventures.

Enjoy the View from the 488-Meter Observation Deck

The 488-meter observation deck is the highest publicly accessible viewpoint in Canton Tower.

Unlike indoor viewing areas, this outdoor platform allows visitors to feel the wind, enjoy the open atmosphere, and admire Guangzhou’s skyline without reflections from glass windows blocking the scenery.

Ride the Bubble Tram

The Bubble Tram is one of Canton Tower’s signature attractions.

Instead of moving vertically like a traditional Ferris wheel, it features 16 transparent glass cabins that rotate horizontally around the top of the tower, offering passengers a unique aerial sightseeing experience.

Experience the Sky Drop

For visitors who enjoy extreme activities, the Sky Drop provides an unforgettable adventure.

The attraction offers two riding styles: a seated drop and a more intense standing drop. After reaching the tower’s highest point, riders experience a sudden downward fall, making it one of the world’s highest extreme rides.

Walk Across the Glass Floor

The Star Observation Deck provides another exciting experience for those who prefer staying indoors.

Some sections of the floor are made with strong transparent glass, allowing visitors to look directly down at the city hundreds of meters below. Taking photos through the glass floor has become one of the most popular activities for visitors.

Challenge the Spider Walk

The Spider Walk is designed for adventurous travelers.

This outdoor spiral pathway is located around the narrow waist of Canton Tower. Its transparent sections allow visitors to observe the tower’s unique structural design while walking along the elevated route.

Enjoy 360-Degree Dining Above Guangzhou

Canton Tower also offers unforgettable dining experiences high above the city.

The Xuanji Mediterranean Buffet Restaurant, located on the 106th floor, is Guangzhou’s highest revolving restaurant. It completes a full rotation approximately every 90 minutes, allowing diners to slowly enjoy changing views from the Pearl River to the skyscrapers of Zhujiang New Town.

Located on the 105th floor, Lutece French Revolving Restaurant provides a more elegant dining atmosphere. With its refined setting and impressive views, it is especially suitable for celebrations, romantic dinners, and special occasions.

Transforming the Culinary Space into a Warm Gathering Haven

Transforming the Culinary Space into a Warm Gathering Haven

For generations, the kitchen has been viewed primarily through a lens of utility, treated as a sterile workshop designed solely for meal preparation. However, shifting your design perspective to treat this area with the same decorative care as a living room or master bedroom can dramatically alter the atmosphere of your entire home. As the undisputed heart of the household, the kitchen deserves to be a personalized sanctuary where family members naturally congregate, share stories, and linger long after a meal has ended. Without thoughtful ornamentation, cabinetry and appliances can feel cold and uninviting. By intentionally introducing stylistic elements that reflect your personal journey, you can seamlessly transition the environment from a purely functional workspace into a deeply comforting domestic retreat.
